Pieces of the fishwheel were transported down a trail by quad, then moved by hand down the riverbank to the beach.
Prior to installation of the smolt fence, the concrete sill is all that remains in the river over winter.
Each year hundreds of tourists visit the fence as they travel the highway to Alaska. The KRSEF is located on the property of the Cassiar RV Park, and is a major draw for the facility.
