The fishwheel in the final position. Low flows that year were thought to reduce the effectiveness of the fishwheel - which tend to work better in higher, more turbid water conditions.
Chinook salmon are typically the first to migrate through the fence each year. This Chinook is swimming overtop the white teflon bottom of the trapbox.
Cutthroat trout are captured, sampled and released downstream, as they migrate through the fence to spawn each spring.
